CHARACTER SURVEY

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Reaver is actually a bit on the short side; he's 5'7". The Hero of Skill is supposed to be tall, but it's been years since Reaver worked on actually improving his Skill anyway. He's fairly thin (though he does like to wear plenty of layers to make himself look more impressive and imposing) but he does have some muscle mass from fighting over the years.

2. How old is he?
He appears to be in his early thirties, but Reaver is over two hundred years old. His exact age is around 250, give or take a decade or two. He has no idea how old he really is, nor does he have any intention of sitting down and trying to figure it out.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
He carries himself very well. It's important to look intimidating, after all! Reaver's posture is almost always flawless, though he tends to stand with a hand on his hip and look rather relaxed. He can and will slouch when he's feeling particularly put-off and pouty.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Reaver is quite fit with no known illnesses or conditions.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
He's very graceful and fluid, moving as if he's constantly putting on a show. His gestures are very expressive and extravagant and he's almost always moving in some way. It's difficult for Reaver to keep still. He literally prances while he's running and he has some of the prettiest jumping skills known to mankind.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
No one will ever love Reaver more than himself. He's good-looking and youthful - though that obviously comes from his deal with the Shadow Court - and tends to his appearance obsessively. He considers himself flawless and is completely in love with himself. Narcissus has nothing on this guy.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Reaver is slightly tanned from all his time outside capturing ships and being the Pirate King and for the most part his complexion is clear. He does have one scar on his chest from a rather unfortunate encounter in his youth. It would have killed him if not for his Heroic bloodline.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
His hair is brown, though it often looks dark blond depending on the lighting. It's wavy and easy to manage and almost never out of place, though it could stand to be a bit thicker, in his opinion.

9. What color are his eyes?
Light blue.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
The scar over his heart, as mentioned above, as well as a mole under his left eye.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
Implying Reaver actually gets tense? For the most part he doesn't, but when he does it takes a toll everywhere. His shoulders and hands tend to take the most damage there, so he tries not to stress himself out. Alcohol is good for that, you know!

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Varied, though Reaver focuses mostly on reds and golds. He's very fond of more "regal" colors and usually wears several layers. He likes extravagant clothing and rarely bothers wearing the same outfit twice. Short capes are some of his favorite pieces, though he's very fond of ascots and bows as well.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Yes they do, though he does leave a little room in his shirts for movement. As mentioned before, Reaver does like to dress in layers to make himself look more imposing. He's very comfortable regardless of what he's wearing... or not wearing.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
Yes he does. Reaver is a pirate, but ultimately his sense of style comes above that. He refuses to wear more practical outfits simply because they're droll.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
It depends on the outfit, of course! But most of the time he's commando. :|

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Reaver is from Albion, so he has a British accent. His voice isn't exactly high-pitched, but it's not deep either.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
It depends on what he's talking about and how riled he is, but for the most part Reaver speaks evenly and a bit quickly. He talks very easily and doesn't hesitate at all. And he can go on and on about topics no one cares about for quite some time without any difficulty.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
As mentioned above, he has a British accent. He doesn't have any real tics but he does tend to insert random French into his speech while no other characters do.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
English and French; he's fluent in the former and knows quite a bit of the latter due to his time abroad.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Not really, though he does use French for some words when he feels like showing off.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He's a very good impromptu speaker; it's hard to get him to keep his mouth shut.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Very eloquent. There really isn't anything that surprises Reaver enough to get him to stutter or lose his composure when it comes to speech.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
He's quite a bit of both, actually. Reaver has obviously been around for quite some time and has picked up a good bit of street smarts, but he's also well-read and enjoys studying (to some extent, at least).

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He definitely thinks on his feet. Reaver doesn't usually plan anything out in advance. When he does, it usually goes to shit, so he's stopped bothering with it.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Reaver's a horrible mixture of all of the above, really. He tends to think more intuitively and will act without thinking rather than taking the time to figure out the logical conclusions, but that doesn't mean he never has logical thought processes. He's definitely more practical for the most part though, but his immaturity tends to lead to idealistic fantasies (such as ruling the seas as the King of Pirates, never mind that he actually managed that).

4. What kind of education has the character had?
He had the required amount of schooling several hundred years ago. Which really means nothing nowadays. He's well-read though and does tend to study things that are relevant to his interests. And he has a lot of interests.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Guns, anything pertaining to Skill, ships, piracy, treasure, sex, bribery, false friendships... you name it, Reaver's interested in it. He's quite the greedy man and wants everything he can get his hands on, physically or otherwise.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Extrovert. In fact, Reaver can't stand not being surrounded by people.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
He's very laid-back for the most part, though once he desires something, he'll do whatever he can to get it. He's very cheerful and optimistic as well. Reaver does tend to have mood swings though; he's prone to getting frustrated with people or getting excited far more easily than staying even-tempered, though he does try for the latter sometimes!

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
He flirts with them regardless of appearance. He's found the quickest way to persuade people to like him is to get them in bed. That, and he really enjoys sex, so...

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Act. Reaver prefers to take the initiative. He will react to things obviously, but he prefers to get the jump on people.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Fight. Reaver very rarely flees any sort of fight - but that's usually because he picks fights.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Reaver finds quite a lot of things funny. Like you flirting with him. You have no idea what you're doing, even if you really do. It's cute. It's like watching the freshman hit on a teacher. It's adorable. He has a horrid sense of humor otherwise and will freely joke about murdering people, among other things.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
He's paranoid and occasionally deals with depression, but Reaver has never been diagnosed with anything.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
The incident in Oakvale was obviously the biggest defining moment for Reaver. It was what prompted him to create the Reaver persona, after all. Becoming the Pirate King is another important moment in his life. He's had several though; he has lived for over two hundred years, after all.

14. What does he fear?
Dying, and more specifically, aging. He doesn't have to worry about the latter thanks to the Shadow Court and the deal he made, but the former is something he worries about.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
He wants to be surrounded (and adored, preferably) by people. He doesn't have any real dreams outside of being remembered and living for as long as possible.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
The incident in Oakvale. He doesn't speak of it and he doesn't want anyone knowing about that. He's more okay with people finding out about the fact that he sacrifices others to maintain his youth than he is with them finding out about Oakvale. As far as people are concerned, they can believe Reaver existed forever and was never some naive kid who accidentally his hometown.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
He had a decent relationship with his parents, though like all teenagers, he had his rough patches. He was getting on well enough with them when he accidentally Oakvale though. He doesn't bother to stop and remember them though; the Reaver persona doesn't allow for that sort of thing, after all. He can't go soft!

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Yes, Reaver had a younger sister. They were close in age and catty bitches who fought tooth and nail all through adolecense. He was getting on well enough with her as well when Oakvale happened.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
He had several aunts and uncles in and around town, but they were never that important to him.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
No. Reaver doesn't consider anyone family any more, and the girl he wanted to marry died in Oakvale. She was the only person he ever loved.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
He doesn't have one. He's his own best friend.

6. Does he have other close friends?
No.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Oh he makes friends very easily! He just doesn't trust them or care about them!

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Friends. His family is long dead anyway. But more important than both of those is himself. And his wealth.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
He's been married more times than he can count; he's both divorced and widowed, though it's usually more of the latter since he tends to kill his wives. He's had more wives than husbands, but he's had a few of the latter as well. He doesn't discriminate; if he likes a person well enough to marry then hey, let's get married!

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Oh he's cheated on his spouses plenty of times. No big deal.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
His first crush was the childhood friend who died in Oakvale. She was also his latest. Everything else is based solely around sex and sexual interest; he doesn't feel any sort of romantic interest toward anyone else. He won't allow himself to feel romantic interest toward anyone else.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Sex. ...that's literally it.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
It's entirely possible that he has children, but he doesn't know of any and he has no interest in knowing about them.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Oh of course. He's had plenty of people try to kill him in the past, but he's a damn good shot and hasn't been taken down yet. It helps that he's a Hero.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
He's a three; he likes men and women equally.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
Sex is one of the most important things in Reaver's life. He gets pissy if he hasn't had sex every single day. He's an entitled brat, in case you haven't noticed.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
He's kind of the kinkiest thing around; Reaver loves BDSM and sex isn't fun unless someone's falling off the bed/tied to the bed/chained to the wall/god knows what else. The only stipulation he has is that everything is consensual. He's not going to rape anyone; that's no fun at all.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
I'll come back to this once I figure it out. :|

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Neither. Religious and spiritual beliefs are ridiculous in his opinion.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Ahahaha.... that's funny.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
He's curious in learning more about them, but honestly you're dumb for believing them. c:

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
I'll come back to this once I figure it out. :|

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Reaver is very rich. He owns the largest house in Bloodstone and brings back treasure from all of his expeditions. He doesn't gamble or do anything that could risk his fortune.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
It has changed; Reaver used to be relatively unknown, but several decades ago he started making a name for himself as a pirate. Now he's the Pirate King and the Hero of Skill, and well-known for both of them.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
The Bloodstone Manor is his personal castle; it's beautifully furnished and a wonderful place that he's spent time decorating and rebuilding repeatedly. He's had it for decades and genuinely loves it. Well, as much as he loves anything that isn't himself, at any rate.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
...Everything, to be honest. He'll spend quite a bit on alcohol though.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
He's a pirate, as well as a Hero, but the latter doesn't really do much for him. He's very fond of piracy and even more fond of killing people. He's very good at what he does.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
As mentioned above, he's very interested in just about everything. He's spent the past two hundred years studying all sorts of things and he's a bit of a jack of all trades in that respect.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Reaver has the metabolism of all Heroes, which means he's living off of fruits and vegetables for the most part. He rarely indulges in anything sugary, and when he does he's working out for the next month to prevent himself from gaining weight. While he's not an alcoholic, Reaver does drink a lot and finds that it's the easiest way to lull himself to sleep.
